Samsung podría lanzar pronto el Galaxy Ring y las gafas Galaxy

En el lanzamiento del Galaxy S23 a principios de este mes, Samsung anunció que estaba «construyendo la próxima experiencia XR» en asociación con Google y Qualcomm. La compañía se burló de un nuevo dispositivo XR (Extended Reality), pero no compartió muchos detalles. Parece que los auriculares llegarán pronto como Galaxy Glasses. Eso se basa en una solicitud de marca registrada reciente del gigante coreano. La compañía también ha solicitado una marca comercial para Galaxy Ring.

Samsung presentó estas solicitudes de marca registrada ante el Servicio de Información de Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual de Corea (KIPRIS) (vía) la semana pasada. Los documentos proporcionados por la compañía describen a Galaxy Glasses como un «auricular de experiencia de realidad virtual», «auricular de experiencia de realidad aumentada», «anteojos inteligentes», «teléfono inteligente» y «auriculares». En otras palabras, son unas gafas o auriculares XR con capacidades integradas de teléfono inteligente y auriculares. Puede ofrecer experiencias XR independientes que abarcan la realidad virtual (VR), la realidad aumentada (AR) y todo lo demás.

Hablando en su evento Galaxy Unpacked el 1 de febrero, Samsung dijo que su próximo auricular XR utilizará un procesador Qualcomm especializado y se ejecutará en una versión optimizada de Android que Google ha desarrollado específicamente para dispositivos portátiles. Según los informes, Meta y Microsoft también están ayudando a la empresa coreana a desarrollar este producto. Samsung parece estar recibiendo aportes de todos los expertos de la industria para garantizar que las gafas Galaxy no corran la misma suerte que sus esfuerzos anteriores de AR/VR. La compañía cerró su línea Gear VR hace unos años después de no poder ganar mucha tracción en el mercado.

Samsung también prepara un Galaxy Ring inteligente

El Galaxy Ring de Samsung es un «dispositivo inteligente para medir indicadores de salud y/o sueño en forma de anillo». También puede comunicarse con su teléfono inteligente para compartir información de salud y otros datos. Si bien la lista en el sitio web de KIPRIS no reveló nada más, también escuchamos sobre Galaxy Ring en el pasado. Los medios coreanos informaron en octubre del año pasado que Samsung había comenzado a trabajar en su anillo inteligente de primera generación. También ha habido múltiples patentes relacionadas con un producto de anillo inteligente.

Además de servir como rastreador de salud, la compañía también planea permitir que el anillo controle otros dispositivos conectados. Si bien los detalles aún son escasos, esta presentación de marca registrada y la descripción del producto de Samsung sugieren que el Galaxy Ring de primera generación será un anillo inteligente bastante completo. El gigante coreano aparentemente no parece lanzar un producto engañoso. Es hacer algo que cumpla con la mayoría de los requisitos. Deberíamos escuchar más sobre este dispositivo portátil futurista en los próximos meses.
